The Ultimate Weekly Self-Care Checklist for Busy Women

Women report feeling stress an average of 8% more than men. Almost half of women report their stress levels have increased over the last five years. If you find yourself agreeing with these statistics, then it’s time to make a change in your life.

It can be easy to focus on what everyone needs around you while forgetting about taking care of yourself. However, if you don’t take care of yourself, you’ll get run down and won’t be able to care for anyone.

Create your own weekly self-care checklist with these ideas and start caring for yourself.

Give Yourself a Manicure or Pedicure

Take an hour out of your day and give yourself a mini manicure or pedicure. Use an exfoliator to remove dead skin and smooth things out. You could do a wax treatment or use a moisturizer to soften your hands and feet.

Clean under your nails, push your cuticles back, and file your nails into a nice shape. Then apply a base coat and your favorite color of gel polish. Finish with an OPI gelcolor base and top coat to keep things looking nice.

This small self-care task will help your brain focus on one task for a moment, helping you de-stress. It’ll also leave you feeling beautiful with a small accent that makes you look polished.

You Need “Personal” Time

No one wants to talk about it, but you have intimate needs that need addressing. These are natural and can actually help reduce your stress levels. Take time out each week to give yourself some self-love.

It helps to have an aid or two. Look online for a reputable toy website that will help you find the right one. Order from the privacy of your own home and start getting to know yourself on an intimate level.

Take a Bubble Bath

Fill the tub with hot water, add bubble bath or salts, and light a candle. Choose a bubble bath that will create tons of luxurious bubbles. If you prefer salts, look for one with calming essential oils.

Your candle can also be calming with a scent that’s known for creating a soothing atmosphere. These scents are known to reduce stress in people:

  • Clary sage
  • Lavender
  • Orange
  • Peppermint
  • Rosemary
  • Frankincense

Don’t forget to turn on some calming music. Sit back and let your brain and body rest and recharge.

Go For a Walk

Head to your local park and go for a walk. Getting outside and breathing deep will get fresh air into your lungs, helping to remove toxins and deliver more oxygen to your brain. This will help you to be healthier and handle stress better.

Moving about and getting your blood pumping also helps to reduce your stress levels. Exercise also triggers your body to release endorphins, which are happy hormones that will combat stress hormones.

Physically removing yourself from a space can help you get mental clarity. Taking a walk can help you mentally reset and effectively come back and tackle problems.
